Drainage Systems

Drainage systems are a crucial part of keeping your home safe from the damaging effects of water. We have been installing drainage systems in New Jersey for more than 15 years.

One of the types of drainage systems we offer are French drainage systems, also known as trench drains. They are one of the predominant types of drainage systems used in homes today. To create it, we dig a trench around the perimeter of your home’s foundation so water flows away from the structure, and then lay in perforated pipes that can collect the water; we then cover the trench with gravel or rock instead of soil to enable the water to drain more easily – the drains can clog up with the small particles of dirt and soil . French drainage systems are usually built on a slope to ensure the water flows continuously and away from your site to a predetermined area. Talk to us about other types of water diversion techniques, as well.

Another type of drainage system involves sump pumps. When there is a heavy storm, a sump pump will keep your basement and the area underneath it from flooding. When levels of groundwater increase, there is an area under your basement called a sump, which fills up instead of letting the water get into your basement. A sump pump will take that water to the ground level, where it can properly drain and go away from your house. It is important to keep your basement dry so that you prevent mold and mildew problems, as well as structural issues. Talk to us, too, about sump pump installation with a battery backup; this will ensure the pump continues to function should the power go out in a storm.

We can also take care of drain leader installation. This type of drainage system is a vertical pipe outside your house that carries water from your roof drains to a storm or sewer system. In order for these to function at their peak, gutters must remain free of leaves, dirt and tree branches.

There are many facets to a septic system, and we can design and install one that will best fit your needs and your property. It is especially important that these types of drainage systems work property for health and safety reasons. There are four main components to a septic system. The main waste line, also known as a sewer line, links your home’s plumbing to the septic tank. All waste, both solid and liquid, is pumped into the tank, which is often buried a few feet from your house’s foundation wall. The solids settle to the bottom of the tank, and clarified effluent flows out of the tank into a soil absorption, or leaching, system. This is done via the effluent distribution pipe, which directs the flow of effluent from the tank to the leaching system. Several types of leaching systems exist, and the type used depends on your soil conditions and amount of space available. We have the experience to determine which type and size are best for you.
